Praise God for these sweet people that He loves so much. I have been so blessed to be able to walk with them. The Lord is showing this beautiful culture off to me and bragging about His people. I feel so blessed to get to be a part.
So I thought I would share with you all a little bit about the Bota Botas. A bota bota is the motorcycle or bicycle that carries people from place to place on the back of it. And then wearing a skirt just makes it a little bit better. So my friend Kendra and myself were taking one into town, a little over 10 km away. We both got on the back of the same one sitting side saddle, I was on the very back and I was able to hold to the back of the seat but only with sitting on my hand as my butt would not fully fit onto the seat. As we are driving down the road, about a two lane dirt main road, there was a mini bus taxi park on the side of the road. We were on the inside of a medium sized truck going in the same direction as we were. Coming form the opposite direction was another taxi bus hugging the opposite side of the road. Already a tight fit, when we reached the place where the four vehicles will all pass, the parked bus begins to pull out. I wish I had a picture, but my knees were almost touching the truck on our left as a struggled to keep my feet as close in as possible. And just to add a little more adrenaline all this happened right over a speed bump. No roller coaster has ever made my heart race that much but I definitely enjoyed the rush when it was over.

Hey Megs!
Just found your blog ... pretty sweet action! So Bota Botas are pretty much the sweetest thing ever. When I was in Kenya, I pretty much took Boda Bodas everywhere I went. The Boda Boda drivers in Kenya were very prideful and also competitive. Drivers were reluctant to let other Boda Bodas pass each other, so it made for good fun. I remember this one time a man was attempting to carry an office desk strapped down to the back of his Boda Boda. Most hilarious thing ever. If you get the chance, you should try driving someone else on the back of the Boda Boda. I borrowed my friend's Boda for an hour one day, and attempted to sell rides -- worst idea ever. The bikes are like from 1950s England, and seriously over 40 pounds. I definitely almost wiped out with Alana on the back. Give it a try, though. I'm sure you'll have better luck! Hope you're having fun!
